It Can Only Be...

As I was strolling through past posts and polls on the GFI, a fantastic idea occured to me. I now know who I believe the author of Dipper's books is. It's himself! It can only be! Let me explain.

Throughout the series, we've been immune to magical, parallel things like instant height change, real vs. virtual worlds, and so much more. But the most important thing we've encountered is -- time travel. Time travel! It's the solution! The author of Dipper's books is the future Dipper! It must be! He's learning these secrets of Gravity Falls, Oregon faster than anyone else. It must be him! Future Dipper! I am a Future Dipper Believer.
Now, you may agree to agree, or agree to disagree, but I myself and anyone else who has come to this conclusion, I think we're on to something

How to Read Atbash

Atbash the new way of deciphering the Gravity Falls codes. In the latest episodes, Alex Hirsch whispers "Switch around the Z" in the opening credits. This is what he means:

1. There are 26 letters in the alphabet, write half of them on one line (You do NOT have to write half of them, this just takes less time than writing out the alphabet.)

(the first thirteen letters)

2. Write the next 13 letters backwards on a line directly under the first 13.(You do NOT have to write half of them, this just takes less time than writing out the alphabet.) Like this:

Z Y X W V U T S R Q N O P

3. Put them together, and you get this:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M
Z Y X W V U T S R Q N O P


4. Whatever letter you see, for instance, A, it equals the letter directly under it, Z.

5. Decode

Caesarian is the decoding technique used to decode these secret messages. This probably means that for next week's episode we will not be using the Caesarian technique, we will be using Atbash.

N e w E p i s o d e

More Hints We Missed!

Here are some more hints we missed that have been hidden in the background.

                                    In "The Legend of the Gobblewonker", 'The Goggled Man' appears
                                    to be picking up a fish or some sort of bait.

                                        Also, in the same episode, there are several sharp tools
                                        on the wall for some odd reason.

                                         Here, in this same episode, on Dipper's magazine there
                                      is a picture of Gideon from "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel".

                                     On the walls, there are pine trees. This is probably because
                                        their last name is Pines and the tree symbolizes immortality.
                                

                                         In "Head Hunters", on the wall, there is the name Hirsch,
                                         the last name of Alex Hirsch, the creator. It's written in
                                             German style. It's spelled with a "u", and a "z".

                                       On this man's tatto, there is a sword with "BATS" written
                                       across it. This is probably the name of his biker group. But,
                                       "BATS" backwards is "STAB" Sword + Bats = Stab

                                         Lastly, in "Head Hunters", theres 'The Goggled Man'.
                                         In the episode he appears to be writing on a clipboard,
                                       and then he mysteriously walks away. You can find him in
                                                           almost every episode so far.


                             



                                Looks like we will need to watch out for more clues later on!

Ten Fun Facts About Alex Hirsch!

As you know, Alex Hirsch is the creator of Gravity Falls. Here are some fun facts about him!

#1- Alex Hirsch does the voice of Clamantha on Fish Hooks!

#2- Alex actually has a twin sister, but her name is Ariel Hirsch, and she always wore wacky sweaters! She always says that she is the reason the show is funny, so Alex gives Mabel things Ariel wanted like a pig

#3- He used to wear baseball caps all the time when he was little because he didn't like showering and his hair would always be messy.

#4- When he was younger, he was fascinated with the paranormal and his sister, Ariel, would always tease him about it.

#5- His mom used to tell him there were leprechauns in the woods and that inspired him to fashion a leprechaun trap. His mom would sprinkle leprechaun dust and tell him that he caught a leprechaun. He knew she was lying but he appreciated that she would support him

#6- Alex and Ariel actually did have an Uncle Stan! Grunkle Stan is based on him.

#7- Soos from Gravity Falls was inspired by one of Alex's college friends!

#8- Alex does the voice of Grunkle Stan, Soos, and various background characters

#9- He writes the script and the script is based on his paranormal childhood fascination.

#10- Alex Hirsch originally was writing a completly different show for cartoon network called Flapjack when Disney called him and asked him to write a show for them!

Further Decoding Gravity Falls

Okay, we're back! Now, let's get back to decoding! Last time, we decoded the ending credit messages. Now, I'm going to help you decode the title sequence. There are several hints through out the opening credits many of us don't catch. First of all, I'm sure some people are saying that there is illuminati symbolism. This is not true. Sure you can see the pyramid through out the show. But how educated are you about illuminati? This pyramid is a actually just a symbol of mystery! Isn't that what the show is all about? Okay, so now that that's out of the way, I will show you the picture in the title sequence that's got everyone talking.

Okay, so you see what I'm talking about. This pyramid MEANS MYSTERY! Now, look around the pyramid, do you see the symbols? Let me explain them. The question mark obviously means curiosity and mystery. This question mark is on Soos's shirt. The ice bag is from Episode 5: "The Inconvienceing" Some say it means "lifting of the spirit." This may or may not be true. (If you're reading this, you might be saying, "What am I watching?! I'm being brainwashed!" Well, you are not. The only reason that all of these symbols and hidden messages are here is so that keen kids can get more out of the show, have fun trying to solve the mysteries, and really enjoy watching it. Gravity Falls is like a hobby. Without these puzzles, it would just be another funny kids' show.) This next symbol is on Stan's fez. I have been so puzzled by this symbol, and I just can't seem to understand what it is. In my opinion, this is a sideways ring. But, I'm not positive what this could mean. Moving on, this pine tree is on Dipper's hat. It means immortality. So, either Dipper will live forever, or his legend will live on forever. This makes sense, because trees stay alive for centuries. Also, Pines is Dipper and Mabel's last name! That's pretty cool! This star with the eye in it also means mystery. It is on "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel." It is on Gideon's cape and the top of his Tent of Telepathy. Next, the hand is on Dipper's book he found in the woods. He has Vol. 3. Gideon has Vol.2. We are unsure of who owns book 1. The llama is on Mabel's sweater. It is said to be nature's greatest warrior. This shooting star is also on one of Mabel's sweaters in the first episode. It probably means wishful thinking or free spirited, which definitely defines her. The heart with the stitch in it is on Wendy's friend, Robbie's jacket. Which probably means he has been broken-hearted before, or sensitive.The glasses are Grunkle Stan's. These glasses could be saying that Stan either sees things differently or looks at them closely. So, from what we've gathered. Each of these symbols are on their clothing, have certain meanings, and give a us hint as to what their personality is. This is really fun, isn't it!?

There are still more hints in this title sequence. When they show the footage of the trees and the sun shining down on them. There is someone eith goggles on and he is running. If you didn't catch it, it's okay. They show it so so quickly. Also, on the clip where there are photographs, there is a picture of this goggled man. Some say he appears at odd times in the background in the show.

Moving on, I may have already mentioned this, but someone, most likely Alex Hirsch, whispers "I'm still here" Which is not important. But when played backwards, he says "Three Letters Back" I Have already explained this in one of the previous articles.

Welcome to Gravity Falls!
Gravity Falls, Oregon is the mysterious town Dipper and Mabel were sent off to for the summer. In Gravity Falls, there are endless secrets Dipper and Mabel (mostly Dipper) must unlock. Here is your official guide to solving these puzzles.
So far there have been 5 aired episodes. Tourist Trapped, Head Hunters, Legend of the Gobblewonker, The Hand That Rocks the Mabel, and The Inconviencing. So we have a LOT to cover.Now, if you're actually a fan, you should already know about the "THREE LETTERS BACK" situation. If not, let's go over it.
If you aren't a huge fan, you may vaugely recall hearing a small whispering at the opening credits. Some say it sounds like "I'm still here" But thats not important. If you're a big fan, you would already know that when the opening theme song is play backwards, someone, probably Alex Hirsch, the creator, whispers "Three letters back" And thus, we decode.
So, at the end of every episode in the credits, there is a message for us to decode. If you hadn't noticed, it was probably because you were distracted by the funny clip above it. In the 1st episode, this is the message:

For "Z" skip over three letters back in the alphabet

Okay, if these confuse you, let me explain. "WELCOME TO GRAVITY FALLS" is pretty self explanatory. It's the introduction. Episode 2's is as well. In that episode they visit Scuttlebutt Island. Episode 3's isn't self explanatory. In the epsiode, Dipper and Mabel have to fend off wax celebrities than come to life. Dipper decapitates Larry King and his head ends up in the vent and its still there. Episode 4: Dipper, Mabel, and Soos are watching a commercial and in the credits of the commercial. It says, "Carla, I've always loved you but never had the guts to say it. If you didn't notice that, don't feel bad, because it is played in fast motion. Episode 5: Aoshima is the name of the dolphin creature Mabel is riding in her hallucination. She has the hallucination due to eating imported "smile dip" that was inside an old store where it was lined with caution tape. Also, the dolphin was named after John Aoshima that is somehow involved in the making of Gravity Falls.
